MSCDEX.EXE is being loaded in the Autoexec.bat file. Follow these steps to resolve the problem.

• From the START menu select RUN and type in "sysedit".
• Find the file named AUTOEXEC.BAT.
• Copy the line containing MSCDEX.EXE down on paper.
• Remove all lines including MSCDEX.EXE.
• Close the System Configuration Editor.
• From the START menu select RUN and type in "edit c:\windows\dosstart.bat".
• Make sure that these is a line that includes MSCDEX.EXE.
• If not then copy the line exactly as it appeared in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file
