Computer Systems

United Micro computers have either three or one year parts warranties. Full and Bare systems have one year warranties.

Full System - A full system is one that will "boot" when turned on. A full system includes at least a computer case, motherboard, CPU, heat sink and fan, floppy drive, hard drive, system memory, a video card (or motherboard with built in video) and an operating system(Windows 2000, Windows NT etc.).  A basic system on the United Micro Configurator (our system where you configure your computer exactly the way that you want it) plus system memory, a hard drive, a video card and an operating system meet the minimum requirements of a full system and has one year warranty. Extended warranty is available.

Bare System - A bare system is a computer that will not "boot" when turned on or a system that United Micro does not assemble. United Micro assembles all systems unless a customer specifies that we should "ship as parts."  You get an one year parts warranty for bare systems.

Warranty for parts (Everything except monitors, motherboard combos, CPU's and computer systems)

United Micro offers an one year warranty for parts, manufactures may offer longer warranties. In most cases, United Micro covers the exchange for the first year and the manufacturer handles the exchange after the first year. You may find it easier to work directly with the manufacturer for more expedient exchanges. Some manufactures, such as Western Digital, actually require that exchanges be handled through them directly. 

Monitors

United Micro offers an one year warranty on monitors while manufactures offer longer warranties, usually for three years. After 30 Days, monitor exchanges will be handled by the monitor manufacturers.

Motherboards

United Micro offers a one year warranty for motherboards. United Micro handles motherboard replacement for the first year, and manufacturers handle exchanges after that.

Motherboard Combos

United Micro offers a one year warranty for motherboards and 30 days for OEM CPUs. Retail CPUs have 3 years warranty directly from Manufacturer. United Micro handles motherboard replacement for the first year, and manufacturers handle exchanges after that.

CPUs (Intel)

United Micro offers a 30 days warranty for CPU's (OEM) when purchased without a motherboard. Retail CPUs have 3 years warranty directly from Manufacturer. See Motherboard combos (above) for one and three year warranties when purchased with a motherboard.

CPUs (AMD)

United Micro offers a 30 days warranty for CPU's (OEM). Retail CPUs have 3 years warranty directly from Manufacturer.

Replacement Policy

After thirty days or when customers choose, defective items may be returned to United Micro for replacement. The defective item is returned to United Micro and a replacement is shipped back to the customers after it is determined that the original was defective. This avoids charging then crediting items to your credit card, but takes more time.

Money Back Guarantee

All Refunds/Credit must be approved and will be subject to a minimum 15% restocking fee. No Returns/credits will be replaced immediately. United Micro reserves the right to thoroughly test all items. Absolutely no Refunds/Credits after 30 (thirty) days from date of invoice. Allow 4 - 6 weeks from date of RMA for refunds. Shipping is not refundable.

Customers have up to thirty days from the invoice date to arrange for authorization to return this merchandise for credit. The original invoice value of the merchandise is refunded to the customer. This offer is valid for up to fourteen days after the authorization is issued. Stipulations and exceptions to this policy are that software and printers must be unopened. Printers that have the ink cartridge installed may be returned with as twenty percent restocking fee for up to 15 days after the invoice date. Sales of special order items are final – no refunds. Special order items are items not advertised on the United Micro web site yet are ordered due to special customer requests.

Special Orders and Restocking Fee

Sales on Special Order merchandise are final - no refunds. Special Orders which are not picked up within 30 (thirty) days of notification will forfeit deposit.
There is no a restocking fee for All cancelled orders.
